Highcliffe Food Festival

Thank you to all our students who performed at this year's Highcliffe Food Festival and a particular thank you to all of our specialist Music teachers for preparing and leading the ensembles on the day.

The Woodwind Ensemble opened playing four pieces written especially for the band by ensemble leader Mrs Wallace. Next was the String Ensemble led by Mr Handy with one item featuring debut performances by young players from Highcliffe St Mark. These Year 6 musicians are taking part in an initiative introduced this year into our feeder primary school to support new string players. A big thank you to SoundStorm our local music hub for their support and to Mr Handy for leading the programme - we are very much looking forwards to the fantastic new talent joining us in September. The Brass Ensemble also were joined by some super musical Year 6 players moving to Highcliffe next year from Hordle Primary School and also featured a very special guest Bert from Ballard School. Finally, we had some vocal items to round off a very pleasant afternoon from Celia, Darcey, Zoe and Lauren.

The event was very well supported by friends and family, and it was a lovely surprise to see so many old faces connected with Highcliffe School at the performance. Well done to all the students involved - you were exceptional throughout and showed such amazing commitment giving up a Saturday afternoon to be involved in this local community event. Thank you.
