Highcliffe School Community Project at The Regent

Highcliffe School Community Project at The Regent

Six schools joined us for the long awaited Highcliffe School Community Project at The Regent this week. The invitation to take part in this collaborative performance followed on from the Highcliffe Music Tour of local primary schools this year by the woodwind, brass and string ensembles led by our team of high quality inspirational practitioners.

The Community Project is an event which celebrates the many music-making opportunities that schools provide across the key stages for our young people and is a great way of getting schools together to share what they have been working on with each other and with friends and family.

Performances included choirs from Highcliffe St Mark Primary, Mudeford Junior, Hordle Primary and Somerford Primary alongside instrumental performances from Somerford Primary, Bransgore Primary, Brockenhurst Primary and Highcliffe School. It was also an opportunity to see the combined ensembles of Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 together on the stage performing as the Double H Brass Ensemble (Highcliffe/Hordle) and the Highcliffe/Bransgore/Brockenhurst Woodwind Ensemble.

We are indebted to SoundStorm for supporting this event and would like to say a special thank you to all the music leads, school senior leaders, admin and support staff who spent many hours preparing the young musicians this term.

Finally, thank you to all the performers who made the event such a success performing at their very best and for being so supportive of each other. Well done and keep practicing.
