Online Lockdown Dressage for Highcliffe Equestrian

Beth has taken her dressage competing online during lockdown

Lockdown put a stop to any competing so I turned to online dressage to make, which meant I was fortunate to be able to compete from home by filming our tests and uploading onto YouTube.

The NSEA put on a series of dressage competitions from November through to March with points awarded for riders placed 1-8 which accumulated over the 5 months. I took part on my horse, Carrot, being placed consistently each month in the Prelim class. We even managed a win in the final one and came 2nd over all in the series, qualifying for the NSEA Championship Plate at Keysoe later in the year.

Legend is a New Forest Stallion who I was asked to ride in November 2020. After getting on board Legend I set myself a challenge to also participate on him at intro level, this resulted in being placed every month and coming 2nd in the series! In March there was a prelim qualifier which I entered on Legend and came 7th out of over 40 other competitors, this resulted in qualifying for the NSEA Championship Plate at Keysoe. I have enjoyed representing Highcliffe equestrian team throughout lockdown and now look forward to getting out competing.
