This year's excellent examination results maintain Highcliffe's position as a leading provider of Sixth Form education in the Christchurch, New Forest and Bournemouth areas.

This year’s excellent examination results maintain Highcliffe’s position as a leading provider of Sixth Form education in the Christchurch, New Forest and Bournemouth areas and confirm Ofsted’s  judgement that “the Sixth Form is a real strength of the school.” Since 2016 Highcliffe Sixth Form has been consistently placed towards the top of the national performance measures for the ‘value-added’ to students’ grades between GCSE and A Level.

27% of all grades achieved were the highest A*/A or Distinction*/Distinction.

59% of all grades achieved were the top A* to B or equivalent.

82% of all grades were A*/A/B/C or equivalent.

Of our applied courses, 57% of the grades achieved were the top Distinction*/Distinction.

In Sport 83% of the grades on the course were the top Distinction*/Distinction.

Among the excellent results achieved across all subjects particularly strong results were achieved in A Level Art and Design, A Level Spanish, Music BTEC and EPQ where an amazing 100% of all Grades were the higher A* to B grades . In A Level Textiles 80% of students received the higher A*-B grades and in A Level Media Studies 75% achieved A*-B too.

The majority of our students are celebrating results that will take them to the top Russell Group universities or the most prestigious degree courses at a range of top-performing UK universities.

“I am delighted with the results achieved by our students and I wish to extend our thanks to them all and their parents for continuing the Highcliffe outstanding A level tradition. Our BTEC students, all of whom are on advanced programmes, have achieved some of the very best grades possible. We wish them all well in the next stage of their careers.”

-Lisa Swan, Head of Sixth Form

“I’m delighted on behalf of Highcliffe’s students who have worked extremely hard and are now heading off to the best universities and apprenticeships. I’m particularly pleased to see that in addition to our traditional strengths in the English, History, Modern Languages, Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, this year’s results confirm the exceptional quality of Sixth Form provision at Highcliffe in Art and Design subjects and in Music and Performing Arts subjects, and in Sport-related subjects.  Highcliffe’s very strong reputation for academic excellence and for successfully placing students on top courses is the result of the commitment of our talented staff who offer rigorous teaching and academic support, combined with strong links with universities and employers, and loyal and supportive parents.”
